Taking good care of our bodies and having good health are certainly higher priorities for everybody. There is so little time, as we are all so busy, that we seem to neglect taking care of ourselves.

Ayurveda’s 5,000 year old wisdom gives us great insight into purification and healing. Purification is the process of eliminating imbalances from the past, which cause the current unbalanced condition. One of the basic laws of Ayurveda is that when one or another of the forces of nature becomes disturbed through excess or deficiency, disease is established.
According to Ayurveda, our natural state is one of health, happiness and an inner sense of well-being. Health is defined as the body being clear of toxins, the mind is at peace, emotions are calm and happy, wastes are efficiently eliminated and organs are functioning normally. In a busy, stressful and toxic world, our physical and mental systems accumulate toxins causing deterioration in bodily functioning. These can evolve into serious specific diseases, ultimately damaging an individual’s health and wellness.

“Some of the many health conditions that acupressure can be helpful in treating include nausea (especially in cancer patients), fibromyalgia, back pain, and arthritis, among others.”
In a recent double-blind clinical trial* (at the School of Nursing at the China Medical University in Taichung, Taiwan), premature infants received meridian massage (acupressure) three times per day for 15-minute sessions over a course of 10 days. During the acupressure sessions, (prior to feedings) the study group (of premature infants) had their abdomens rubbed, received stomach meridian massage and other acupressure kneading applications.
